Who TheF are you going to vote for?

How many boutiques do you think there are in WA?

Most of us would be surprised to know that there are 500+ small fashion outlets operating across Western Australia.  So where on earth are they all? AND how many of them offer a decent range of up to date fashion?  Is social networking lighting the way for sustainable businesses in the retail fashion industry?

Facebook has allowed us, as consumers, a gateway in recent times to explore some stores that are actively trying to inform the public of their existence and open their ‘doors’ online to allow insight into the type of stock they are actually carrying.  These stores that are online are exactly the places that you should be shopping!  AND I will tell you why in a moment.
Milk Fashion Scarborough (1500+ Facebook Fans)
Visit them on Facebook: CLICK HERE!

Take Milk Fashion (Scarborough) for instance.  Milk is run by the wonderful Brooke and Grant who were not exactly brought up in this technologically savvy age.  They do although do their best to keep up with the trend towards online.  They have evolved there one off boutique that has been running since 2005 and guided their focus into capturing a wider market through the use of Facebook and other social networking passages.  For businesses such as Milk Fashion, that are taking this proactive approach to gaining an extended customer base, they are proving to provide up to date and fresh fashion on a weekly basis.  Hand in hand with awareness comes sales, and with sales comes fresh stock.  Therefore stores that are becoming better known through new age methods are the ones that will be there to serve the fashion consumers for a long time to come.

Through extensive research online, we at TheF have found that a large portion of the boutiques that are out there are not even online through social networking, let alone attempting to fulfill the cultural requirement of a web page.  There is although a small portion that at least has an online yellow pages listing, but what use is this when there is no interaction available to the business owner.  So how on earth do these businesses expect their customers to find them and interact with them online?  Perhaps there is some correlation between old and outdated boutiques that remain hidden (that often carry items that look as though they have blown off the back of a truck), and proactive boutiques that are out there actively seeking new customers online, offering a desirable range of fresh fashion in their physical location.

Some other small business fashion outlets that have amazing online presence through social networking in WA are:
Black Beret Boutique (Mt Lawely)
2,000+ Facebook Fans -CLICK HERE TO VISIT!
Bonnie + Clyde (North Perth)
10,000+ Facebook Fans-CLICK HERE TO VISIT!
Subway DC (King St)
5,500+ Facebook Fans-CLICK HERE TO VISIT!
To these boutiques above; we say KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK!!
Great exposure = more customers = new stock for ALL OF US on a regular basis!

To those outlets that already have a desirable offering of fashion, that are not yet online, please wake up!  Your customers (us) will soon forget you if they are not popping up in our faces on a regular basis as we click-click-click from page to page online!  Here at TheF.com.au we are all about supporting the fashion industry in WA and those doing the right thing need to ensure they have the online guidance that we have  so thankfully had (from fh.) to ensure an online presence that will not be ignored.

THANK F for social networking; you have allowed us to seek the best places to shop, and allowed us to forget the stores that have crappy fashion!!!

Thank F (Pardon My French); we almost forgot about TONIGHT!

GIRLFRIEND’S, MUM’S, SISTER’S, AUNTS- Friends and Family of Pardon My French (PMF) have been invited along by the gorgeous WA designer Freya Brice tonight, to preview and pre-order tantalizing fashion from the upcoming Autumn/Winter 2011 collection!

If any of you are available tonight, join in the fun of home style shopping as a friend of The F.  While being treated to nibbles, wine and champagne, Freya will be more than happy to open her doors to any discerning fashion lover that wants to get into a Pardon My French piece VIP style.  Most amazingly; tonight you can secure your favourite PMF piece for Autumn/Winter 2011 by placing a deposit and you only have to make final payment once the piece is delivered direct to you!  There is also some current Summer stock available to purchase which I believe you can take that home right away!  Check out more details on the PMF shopping night on their BlogSpot NOW: http://www.pardonmyfrenchwench.blogspot.com/

Don't you think this warmer weather is the perfect opportunity to get you game face on for some retail therapy & champagne?  Justification to the boyfriend: It is not uncommon for the fashion forward to buy basic necessities for the season ahead a good 6 months in advance, do you want me to be behind?

A Pinch and (a) Spoon for the first day of the month!

November is here and it is the final month of spring.  We thought that it would be only fit to find something tasty to spoil our readers with as we step into the warmer weather.  With spring racing fever upon us with the “race of races” in Melbourne tomorrow, accessories are filling the shopping bags of every good fashionista!

So when it comes to accessories I wonder how many of us actively seek out unique items to set a style statement.  There is no better feeling than when somebody turns to you and says, “Wow, I love that piece, where did you get it?”.  So where TheF do you go to get your unique fashion frills?  I’ll give you a hint as to where some fashion forward West Aussies have been creeping.

WA designer Isobel Macaulay is the entrepreneurial mind, who has been turning heads with her handmade neckpiece and accessory label; Pinch and Spoon.  Starting out in 2008, 'Pinchy' as refered to by Isobel has already achieved so much as an emerging label in Australia.  They were nomination for a Western Australian Fashion Award and has featured collections in PFF & StyleAID.

Isobel is very excited to be launching her new website (http://www.pinchandspoon.com/ ) this month which will include an online store with a wide selection of pieces to choose from!

If you want it NOW please don’t delay in jumping online and seeking out their stockists:

Following last week’s article on 'sustainability', it seems only feasible for us to be giving the positive stamp of approval from TheF to Pinch & Spoon as her garments are made using recycled materials!

For further interaction with this amazing label please check them out on their social networking pages:

Happy November one everyone and I look forward to seeing the amazing fashion and carfully selected accesories at Ascot Racecourse tomorrow!
